What does the traditional ceremony entail?

Tlhabiso ya Bogadi is a pre-wedding celebration following the conclusion of the lobola negotiations. It involves the exchange of gifts including clothing and blankets which are symbolic items for both families. The celebration brings both families together through song, dance and shared traditions, honouring the unions and expressing gratitude as the two families formally welcome one another.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive by 11:00 am on Friday, 2 April 2027 for the traditional celebration. For the White Wedding on Sunday, 4 April 2027, guests should arrive at 1:00 pm and the ceremony starts at 1:30 pm. Please allow sufficient time for parking, entering the venue and finding your seat.
